The Office of Scholarly Resources was created in 1992 when the Health Sciences Division sought a way to bring together several functions that serve the needs of students and faculty.

The Office has four main units:

  • Augustus C Long Health Sciences Library (HSL) Mission:
    Mission: To exercise leadership in the development and delivery of information resources and services in support of education, research, and health care at CPMC.

  • Information Commons (IC)
    Headed by Charlotte Nichols.
    Mission: To provide computer-based resources and services in support of education and research in the Health Sciences Division, and to facilitate and promote their effective use.

  • Center for Education Research and Evaluation (CERE)
    Mission: To provide expert support to the faculty and administration in the areas of teaching, learning, and evaluation that will facilitate ongoing quality improvements in the curriculum and assist in the promotion of excellence in health science education.

  • Classroom Management (CM)
    Mission: To promote and support educational growth in the health sciences by providing quality classrooms, scheduling, multimedia and technology services to enhance each student and faculty learning experience.

Together the four units offer services and administer facilities that enhance teaching and learning, enable research and discovery, facilitate patient care and administrative functions.

The Health Sciences Library also houses the Photocopy Service Center located on Lower Level 1. The Photocopy Service Center provides a number of professional resources for the convenience of the Medical Center campus. Services include reserves and self-service copying, document delivery, high-volume copying, laminating, document faxing, scanning, posters and banners, professional binding, black and white and color transparencies, and color copies. We also offer co-op memberships for discounted pricing on many services.
