Printing on Campus - the Ninja System

The Information Commons (IC) and the Hammer Health Sciences Library provide one color and 17 black and white high-speed laser jet printers located at the Library, PH17 and the Bard Hall Lobby.

The printers are controlled by the Ninja terminals that are adjacent to each printer. To print you must first send your print job to a Ninja printer, then go to the Ninja terminal, select your print job, and log in with your UNI and password. Pages are deducted from your quota after you have logged in a Ninja terminal to print.
For step by step instructions please see below.

Student Page Quotas
Students enrolled in a Medical Center program and taking classes during the current semester receive a print quota for use at the Ninja printers on the Medical Center campus:

  • 700 pages total for the Spring and Fall semesters
  • 200 pages total for the Summer semester

NOTE: School of Nursing students receive a quota of 450 pages for Summer and Fall semesters, and 700 pages for Spring.
SMDEP students receive a quota of 100 pages for the duration of the program.

Student quota pages that are not used by the end of the current semester expire and will not roll over into the next period. If you have both purchased pages and semester quota pages on your account, the semester pages will be deducted first.

    Purchasing Printer Pages
Ninja printer pages can be purchased by faculty, staff and students with active UNI accounts in increments of $5.00 at the cost of $.10 per black and white page. Color printing costs $1.00 per page.

Pages can be purchased at the Help Desk on the 2nd floor of the Hammer Library, or by logging in to myUNI and selecting the Purchase Pages link.

These purchased pages remain on your account until they are used. They may also be used on both Morningside and the Medical Center campus, unlike student page quotas. You can check your existing pages and printing history by logging in to myUNI and selecting the Check Your Print Quota link.
